The boats we are looking at there, are all sailboats, but behind those, these are both sailboats and cruisers. All lovely boats, even the small ones.

The buildings that you can see on the other side of the boats, are apartments. You don't have to own an apartment, to be able to moore a boat there. There are restaurants and shops, and a gymnasium,

And it's such a wonderful experience!

The Isle of Wight is one of the best known (and most loved) sailing venues in the world. The Solent has been a training ground for many world-class sailors.

Just received an e-mail a couple of weeks ago that strikes a chord of sorts... the Isle of Wight Festival 2008 takes place on 13th through 15th of June at Seaclose Park, and what was voted 'Best Major UK Festival' at the 2007 UK Festival Awards returns with headliners The Police, Lily Allen, The Sex Pistols and others.

But... the Festival is now officially sold out - all 50,000 tickets have been snapped up.
